MCC Joins Earth Hour 2021

June 08, 2021

WWF started Earth Hour in 2007 to unite the world and make a stand against climate change. Earth Hour is the world’s largest environmental movement for the planet that involves 178 countries and territories worldwide. “Our purpose is to empower an interconnected global community to achieve tangible environmental outcomes for our living planet,'' they said.

As Earth Hour rolled across the globe in March, millions of people came together online to speak up for nature and inspire action for a brighter future. According to the organization, the Philippines launched an exciting 4-hour long film marathon named Earth Hour Phlix featuring different themed films for all ages to inspire people to #SpeakUpForNature and create the world they wish to live in.

In line with this, Mabalacat City College also encouraged the community to turn off non-essential lights for one hour. The said involvement resonated with one of the institutions’ policies and philosophy of addressing the issues, causes, and effects of climate change.
