July 06, 2021

“When you work together as a team, nothing is impossible. We’ll always do Bayanihan!”, MCC Kayantabe

Mabalacat City College – Kayantabe, the Community Extension Arm of the institution, completed the first phase of the Calamansi Project last July 2, 2021. Mabalacat City College personnel, the Aeta Community Tribal Chieftain, and other community members came together to plant calamansi in the Aeta Community demonstrating the culture of "Bayanihan".

During the program, Dr. Melanie Viloria-Briones, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered a heartfelt message to all community members saying, “Ang proyektong ito ay para sa inyong lahat, upang makatulong sa inyong pang araw-araw na pamumuhay. Ang bawat puno ng calamansi ay pwedeng makapamunga nang sagana at tiyak na makapagbibigay ng maraming benepisyo. Nawa’y inyong pangalagaan nang sa ganoo’y mapakinabangan ng lahat. Marami pa po tayong nakaabang na mga proyektong pangkabuhayan at asahan po ninyo na lagi po kaming susuporta”.

Mr. Niel P. Rigdao, Director of MCC Kayantabe, outlined the project's purpose and expressed gratitude to everyone who assisted and volunteered for the project. He was overwhelmed by the project's success after months of anticipation.

MCC Kayantabe acknowledged the invaluable assistance of the 2nd Air Force Reserve Command in providing transportation to the community extension activity.

The head of the National Service Training Program, Ms. Marilyn S. Arcilla, also expressed her appreciation to all NSTP students who participated in donating calamansi plants.

MCC Kayantabe further said that the project is but, in its first phase, more is yet to come.
