Abstract

The researchers of the "First Aid Instructional Mobile Application with Potential Hazard Information Awareness for Kids" developed a mobile application named Dr Kid. The primary purpose of this study was to teach the users how to perform first aid, especially during calamity and other unexpected situations. Moreover, it could serve as guidance in increasing the children's knowledge about first aid and calamity. The content of the mobile application was based on real-life situations. The study's objective was to develop a Dr Kid mobile application with a first aid scenario consisting of fifteen (15) stages and calamity composed of three (3) stages with different scenarios. In every scene, there were tutorials, an assessment that tested the user's learning, and a video demonstration on how to perform the correct answer to teach the users what is the right thing to do. Lastly, based on the assessment's performance, the scoring stars will appear before the stage ends. The settings consisted of volume, language, English or Filipino, and gender of Dr Kid, male or female. The methodology of the study was prototyping to guide and track Dr Kid's mobile application phase development. The test cases consisted of five (5) trials to measure the mobile application functionality, usability, and portability. Based on the test cases result, the mobile application passed in terms of functionality, usability and portability test. The developer of the study created a 3D video demonstration and made the four characters 3D to be more attractive to the users.
