Abstract

With the sudden shift of the medium of instruction brought about by the pandemic, schools and universities have shifted from the traditional ways of monitoring attendance to the use of QR Codes, Biometrics, etc. However, accuracy and efficiency have been at stake and remained as problems. With this, the researchers aimed to develop a monitoring system using RFID and ESP32 camera to assist in monitoring instructors swiftly, accurately and efficiently. The system also provides reports in regards to instructors daily logs, real-time viewing inside the classroom, room availability and their schedule. The prototyping methodology was used in this study to build, test and rework until an acceptable outcome is achieved through a trial-and-error process between the developers and the users. Through test cases and series of modifications, the researchers ensured that the database’s functionality, usability and security were thoroughly tested and followed the specified requirements. Based from the findings of the study, the researchers suggest the development of a mobile app with QR code to further enhance the functionalities of the system and the use of IP Camera to future researchers.
