Abstract

The researchers developed ICS Laboratory Monitoring, web-based monitoring, and inventory system for the Institute of Computing Studies. The ICS Laboratory Monitoring System is a computer laboratory and inventory system that keeps track of what is in the laboratories, specifically what students use in the computer laboratories. It proposes a technical solution to improve the institute's inventory and laboratory monitoring processes. Login access, inventory, laboratory monitoring, and report generating are all included in the system. The system will be accessed by two users: the administrator and the custodian. The administrator has complete access to the system, whereas the custodian has full access to inventory. The laboratory monitoring is where the deployed equipment is stored in the inventory, and it will show the equipment's status. Non-deployed equipment can be requested for requisition, and deployed equipment can be reported as damaged. When reporting damaged equipment, the administrator or custodian can include a video file as evidence. The system will also include a class schedule. If the previous user committed the damage, the current user could report it to the custodian, who can identify the previous user by reviewing the students' class schedules and seat plans. The requisition will require a third-party intervention, which will be the admin. All reports can be printed or saved as pdf files. The integration testing went successfully; no errors were found, and the system was still functioning properly. The study's objectives were met, and the results are ready to be used. Future studies may broaden the scope of the locale, create a QR Scanner app, and add other features such as scheduling maintenance of damaged equipment.
