Abstract
In recent years, the wheelchair has become a representation of individuals with incapacities. An appropriate wheelchair allows the user to meet his or her mobility needs. The role of wheelbot is to be one of the modes of transportation for the elderly and disabled. The study aims to develop an efficient WHEELBOT: A Microcontroller-Based Wheelchair with Manual and Mobile Maneuvering Controlled System thru Mobile User Interface Application that would benefit nurses and people with mobility disabilities. The researchers used the Prototyping Methodology as the software development model. The prototyping methodology allows the rapid development of the system while the developer gets valuable feedback from the users early in the project. The researchers successfully gathered all information needed to make the wheelbot working properly. The researcher to combine the modules and program the Arduino using the Arduino IDE. The researchers successfully built a fully functional mobile application that could control the wheelbot with 3 types of options. The researchers concluded that the WHEELBOT: A Microcontroller-Based Wheelchair with manual and mobile maneuvering controlled System thru mobile user interface application met all the requirements set forth in the study’s objectives and scope. With the evidences made by the researchers, the research project was successfully achieved. With this, the research met all its objectives, requirements, and scope for its intended purpose and user. Certain recommendation includes the improvement of the features of the prototype and using a more advanced method such as Bluetooth or Wi-Fi for a better wheelchair.
