CCAP Fellows Tour MCC

Community College Administrator Program (CCAP) fellows recently paid a visit to Mabalacat City College on 27 July 2023, as part of the CCAP Alumni Symposium. The objective of this initiative, originally launched by the US State Department, is to enhance and fortify community college systems in vocational and technical institutions, along with higher education administrators and officials in the Philippines.

During the visit, three activities were conducted simultaneously within the college premises. The MCC Campus Tour was facilitated by Assistant Vice President for Student Life, Prof. Beejay Sebastian. Prof. Sebastian also shed light on the various services and programs offered by the college, highlighting their efficacy in serving both students and the local community.

A seminar was hosted to discuss the transition from college to university pathways, during which officials such as Santa Fe College President Dr. Paul Broadie II, Assistant Vice President Dr. Vilma Fuentes, and Dr. Jeffrey Milligan, the Learning Management Systems Director at Florida State University, addressed a group of Filipino participants from Don Honorio Ventura State University led by President Enrique Baking and other local college officials. This event marked a significant step in expanding educational opportunities to provide students with a more adaptable, flexible, and accessible education.

Engr. Joshua Ken Policarpio, the Assistant Vice President for Workforce Development, led a tour for another group of CCAP fellows at the MCC Lifelong Learning Center in Sapang Biabas. This visit included a detailed explanation of the college's workforce development programs and services, as well as the MCC x VXI Contact Center Service Certificate.

The Community College Administrator Program (CCAP) fellows concluded their program at MCC Cultural Hall with the opportunity to partake in an authentic Kapampangan dinner. The dinner featured a delectable array of traditional dishes including camaru, batute, buro, pititian, and sisig, among others.

In addition to the meal, guests indulged in street foods and explored a mini setup sari-sari store. This showcased the college's dedication to promoting cultural diversity and fostering global citizenry. By organizing and hosting such events, MCC strives to create an inclusive platform where individuals from diverse backgrounds can come together, rejoice, and enhance their understanding of one another.
