The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has selected MCC President, Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong as a member, and Assistant Vice President for Student Life, Basty A. Sebastian as part of the support team, of the National Review Committee on CHED-Funded Internationalization Programs.
Dr. Aguilar-Ong, an expert in community education framework, will serve the committee that will be responsible for evaluating funded internationalization projects and programs, providing feedback on the internationalization initiatives of universities and colleges across the country for policy and program enhancement. Her fresh perspectives in this field will be invaluable in ensuring that the CHED-funded programs does not only meet the highest standards but are also impactful and transformative. Likewise, Dr. Aguilar-Ong is one of the four committee leads in the twenty-four member committee.
Meanwhile, AVP Sebastian has been selected to be a member of the national committee’s support team. This team will be responsible for providing technical assistance to the panel of experts selected by CHED to monitor and evaluate Higher
Educational Institutions with internationalization programs in the country.
The CHED-funded Internationalization Program aims to help Philippine universities and colleges become more globally competitive by enhancing their internationalization efforts. MCC believes that this selection of Dr. Aguilar-Ong and AVP Sebastian to play key roles in the National Review Committee, CHED is taking an important step towards achieving this goal. Their contributions will be crucial in ensuring the success of the program and the continued growth of the Philippine higher education system.
Internationalization is one of the flagship projects under the administration of CHED Chairman J. Prospero "Popoy" De Vera. Under the capable hands of CHED-IAS Executive Director Atty. Lily Milla, Higher Education Institutions have soared high in terms of gaining international presence through missions, international scholarships, transnational education and world rankings.
