October 05, 2021

Teacher’s Day celebrations are meant to acknowledge, thank, appreciate, and honor the amazing work our teachers do in nurturing every young mind of the community.

Today, October 5, 2021, marks the celebration of World Teacher’s Day with a theme “Teachers at the Heart of Education Recovery”, which focuses on the support for teachers currently recovering from the pandemic's impact.

In line with this, Mabalacat City College in coordination with the People Experience Unit headed by Mr. Genesis Macapagal facilitated the first-ever “Teachers Got Talent” (TGT) via Microsoft Teams.

The much-anticipated event featured a variety of entertainment such as spoken word, singing, and dancing from the teaching force of the Institute of Arts, Sciences and Teacher Education (IASTE), and the Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management (IHTM). Further, all employees were given a chance to win amazing prizes in the raffle draw that heated up the celebration of TGT.

This year’s TGT title was bagged by Mr. Celter Torres, from the Institute of Arts, Sciences, and Teacher Education. Ms. Joanna Canonoy, Ms. Kerly Marucut, and Mr. Ralph Emerson Macapagal from the same institute placed second, third and fourth place, respectively. Ms. Jennyfer Merza who represented ITHM landed in fifth place.

Indeed, the program accentuated a sweet gesture of respect and love and conveyed the unwavering spirit and resilience of teachers despite the pandemic that inspire the whole academic community.
