Mabalacat City College Welcomes Students Through General Virtual Orientation

MCC conducted its General Virtual Orientation streamed through MCC Official Facebook Page on August 31, 2021. Said livestream gained 13,800 views and 370 shares.

Dr. Melanie Viloria-Briones, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) said that MCC is eager to make every student feel that the school is their second home.

The President made a light-hearted speech with the words, “We need to be kind and gentle to each other. It is this time that we should come together not just as students, teachers, and management but as one MCC grounded on friendship and resiliency.” 

She also made emphasis on mental health, “More than academic, we want you to maintain your balance.” Her message gained heart emojis from students.

Engr. Erick Jaie David, Management Information System (MIS) Head shared the features of the newly developed student portal and website. He further said that MCC is continuously improving its website and social media pages for a seamless online experience for students. 

Subsequently, the Office of the College Registrar, represented by Ms. Gloria Policarpio, explained the Registrar's responsibility for students' registration retention and graduation requirements. 

Further, the orientation highlighted student engagement and support services such as Virtual Ask-a-Librarian Service, E-Lending/Online Library Request, Tablet Loan Service, Guidance Telecounseling, Focus Group Discussion, E-Tanong Kay Dok (e-consultation), and E-Referrals offered by Library Services Unit, Guidance Services Office and Health Services Unit, respectively.

Other services included Sports and Athletics, Student Affairs, Finance Office, Internationalization Office, Scholarship Grants, Career and Placement were also discussed to inform students that MCC is continuously gearing for a new normal with top-notch facilities, better services, better environment, and global student involvement and participation to continue to provide a transcendent educational experience to its students.

The event themed, “Pamakli Tamu Globally,” tackles topics on teaching internationally.
