MCC, Global Peace Foundation Ph host Peacebuilding Seminar-Workshop

Global Peace Foundation Philippines, in partnership with Mabalacat City College (MCC), hosted the "Transforming Education and Peacebuilding Seminar-Workshop" on 29 September 2023 at MCC Cultural Hall. The event brought together representatives from various Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to forge collaborations and promote peacebuilding through education.

The event's keynote speakers were representatives from the Global Peace Foundation Dr. Tony Devine and Director Ann Marlita Montejo Arevalo delivered insightful presentations on the pivotal role of education in peacebuilding. Their knowledge and expertise inspired and motivated the attendees to contribute to global peace initiatives through education.

Fifteen HEIs participated in the seminar-workshop, including Tarlac State University (TSU), Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU), Limay Polytechnic College (LPC), City College of Angeles (CCA), National University – (Clark, Dasmarinas and Lipa), Mabalacat City College (MCC), Gordon College (GC), Bulacan Polytechnic College (BPC), Pambayang Dalubhasaan ng Marilao (PDM), Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU), Kolehiyo ng Subic (KNS), Dalubhasaang Politekniko ng Lungsod ng Baliwag (BTECH), and Polytechnic College of Botolan (PCB). 

MCC President Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong, extended her appreciation for the active engagement of all institutions present and underscored the profound significance of these collaborative endeavors in pursuing global peace. She expounded, "MCC stands as a welcoming venue for events of this nature, serving as a dedicated platform for cultivating peace-centric initiatives. We are further delighted to announce that MCC has been honored with the distinction of being designated as one of the regional hubs for Global Citizenship Education (GCED)."
Throughout the seminar-workshop, participants engaged in lively discussions by sharing best practices, and exploring innovative strategies for integrating peacebuilding principles into their educational systems. The event also served as a platform for networking and collaboration, enabling institutions to establish connections that will promote peace and understanding in the academic community and beyond.

The "Transforming Education and Peacebuilding Seminar-Workshop" at Mabalacat City College showed the collective commitment of Higher Educational Institutions to foster a culture of peace, unity, and cooperation in the Philippines and beyond. As institutions continue to work hand in hand, the impact of this collaborative effort promises to extend far beyond the confines of academia, ultimately contributing to a more peaceful and harmonious world.
