MCC Hosts First of CHED’s PADYAK Para sa Flexible Learning, Receives Praises from Senator and CHED Chairperson

One of the reporters during the Press Conference of the Vaccination Program asked how pleased they were (Chairperson de Vera and Senator Win Gatchalian) with MCC’s hosting of the first of “PADYAK Para sa Flexible Learning Sama-Samang Vaccination Program”.

CHED Chairperson Dr. Prospero de Vera III answered by saying, “To show the level of my being pleased with Mabalacat City College, I included them [MCC] for the next batch of CHED’s ‘i-Lab’ Project.” The “i-Lab” Project of CHED supports the use of technology to not only improve the students’ technological skills but also cross-cultural communication and international capacities.

On the other hand, Senator Win Gatchalian answered by saying that he is very pleased and impressed with the school’s sense of organization and the partnership and respect between the MCC as an educational institution and the Local Government Unit. He went on by commending the notion that even if the institution is funded by the LGU, it maintains its identity and upholds its mandate as an educational institution apart and separate from the politics of the Local Government. “It [MCC] should be run as professionally and as efficiently as possible.”, the senator said further.

On the manner on how the school performed hosting the Vaccination Program, Senator Win said, “…very impressive! …500 students [vaccinated] in one morning… napakaganda po yo’ng cooperation ng eskwelahan pagdating sa paglaban dito sa COVID-19”. He ended by congratulating Mayor Cris Garbo and College President Michelle Aguilar-Ong.
