MCC Launches VACS System

September 29, 2021

Attended by over 200 student-leaders, the College launched the Vaccination Against COVID-19 of MCC Students System (VACS) through an orientation held via MS Teams on September 29, 2021.

This system aims to register students for vaccination, as part of the Project CRIS (COVID Response Integrated System) of the MCC. The System will also serve as a database of students who are already vaccinated, scheduled for second dose, and those who do not plan to take any vaccine.

In line with the purpose of establishing awareness on the benefits of getting vaccinated and the College’s initiative to reach out to the members of the academic community who would also want immunity from the COVID-19, the launching was partnered with an orientation and information drive.

The College’s Chief of Staff, Atty. Charmaine Lansangan-Venturina, officially opened the orientation sharing an overview of the MCC’s plan to have a minimum conduct of face-to-face classes of selected programs as per the memorandum released by the Commission on Higher Education. Followed by her statement, the Health Services Unit’s Head Nurse Florient G. Non, RN, MSN, detailed the essence of taking shots of vaccines for COVID-19.

The presentation conducted by the HSU was highly linked to the launched System- Vaccination Against COVID-19 of MCC Students (VACS). The VACS System was presented by Engr. Erick Jaie David, the Head of the MIS, showing how to navigate the said platform and why it is beneficial for students to encode their details regarding vaccination.

Generally, the launching and orientation of the VACS System was a fruitful discussion between the student body and the administration through sessions that cater questions of students which were thoroughly addressed by the presenters. The event concluded through warm messages of gratitude delivered by the Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, Beejay A. Sebastian, MPA.
