MCC Meets with Leading Consumer Goods Supply Chain Group Luen Thai  (L&T) International for Workforce Collaborations

L&T International Group Philippines, Inc. visited Mabalacat City College and met MCC College President Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong to discuss possible partnerships in strengthening workforce training and providing employment opportunities to all students and adult learners.

L&T representatives initially met with Vice President for Global Relations, Opportunities and Workforce Development Mr. Raymond John D. Vergara and Assistant Vice President for Workforce Development Engineer Joshua Ken J. Policarpio where they discussed a collaboration focusing on providing certificate programs that are aligned with the local community and industries’ needs.

The company emphasized their need of sewing industry workforce and highlighted their interest in providing trainings for prospect learners. They will also provide machines and materials needed for the trainings. The college was enthusiastic in partnering with L&T and is looking forward for the implementation of short-term programs that are to be offered soon. The collaboration between MCC and L&T is a Corporate College or Contract College Framework Model where colleges and industries design specific and short-term courses that can immediately respond to the industry and community employment needs.

The college is set to open more programs that will cater not only to degree-seeking students, but also adult learners from different communities. MCC is slowly transitioning to a community college to deliver affordable and professional development trainings to the Mabalacat community and its neighboring regions.
