MCC sets Internationalization Standard for other LUCs

April 07, 2025

Believing that international linkages directly impact workforce development, Mabalacat City College (MCC) President Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong shared MCC’s best internationalization practices in a presentation titled, “Enhancing Workforce Development Through Internationalization,” during Emilio Aguinaldo College-Cavite (EAC-Cavite)’s Academic Convocation, where she served as a guest speaker on March 18, 2025, at EAC-Cavite Multipurpose Hall.

As the world continues to reinvent itself, the workforce landscape is also continuing to change. In response to this, interest to internationalization of higher education has turned out to be a key topic of discussion among various Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) related to realizing the requirements of the labor market.

Internationalization, as we know, does not translate into a model that fits all. However, given the recognition that MCC’s internationalization initiatives continue to receive, EAC-Cavite strongly believes that listening to Dr. Ong’s insights and learning from her experience at MCC will not only benefit their institution but also provide guidance to other LUCs, helping them innovate and pursue excellence in their future plans for internationalization.

In her presentation, Dr. Ong highlighted MCC’s best practices such as Cultural Exchange, Collaborative International Online Learning, Language Training, Spanish Language Program, Railway Management Training Program, and other global collaborations aligned with its Community College Internalization Framework, all aimed at giving holistic approach to education for workforce development.
