Mabalacat City College recollects the programs and projects as we wrap-up this noteworthy and meaningful year. One of which is MCC Pro Plus, this program aimed to unbar challenges faced by students with disability, health condition and working students.
Through this program, the college ensures that education will be accessible to everyone regardless of their economic status or health condition. Nathalie Sanne P. Manio, a 1st year student of Management Accounting, she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). She shared her experiences as a student with health condition and how MCC Pro Plus has aided her studies.
“I recently underwent a surgery called rotationplasty resulting in my right leg being amputated. Ever since, I have struggles walking or having a long walk and maybe going upstairs sometimes with a heavy load. Due to my scans and check-ups, I have limited time to focus on my academics. When I don't have a check-up or a scan, I always concentrate on my studies, and if I can, I'll take a short break.
MCC Pro Plus helped me lessen my worries. For example, missing some of my classes especially sometimes when I have a schedule for my check up and scans that are necessary for me and the reason why I can't attend the class.”
Testimonies and appreciation such as this fuels more the passion and fervor of MCC to continue serving and think of ways it can cater its students and the community. As the college enters 2024, it looks forward to another year of passionately serving the community.
