MCC Welcomes DHVSU for Graduate School Consortium

March 31, 2022

Mabalacat City College community warmly welcomed Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) President Dr. Enrique G. Baking, together with Executive Vice President Engr. Rohel S. Serrano, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services Dr. Dolores T. Quiambao, and Board Secretary Atty. David Robert Aquino for the Graduate School (GS) Consortium.

The conference was convened by the Vice President for Research and Extension Services, Dr. Melanie Viloria-Briones, who stated that "DHVSU was chosen to be MCC’s partner as it is devoted to fulfilling its social responsibility and extension services not just to the community but also to other institutions of higher learning."

"I believe the moment you proposed and with the triumphs of MCC…this will prosper. I believe in her [Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong]. I am amazed by your line of thinking. Your institution is an agent for development and a catalyst for change", Dr. Baking said.

In a statement, the College President, Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong said, "With the approval of DHVSU officials and confirmation of the board, then continuing support, by next year, we will be offering more graduate programs."

DHVSU has already established its reputation as a respected and top-performing institution with its excellent academic feats being a Center of Development for Teacher Education with Level 2 status bestowed by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. and is set for Level 3 assessment.

It is also a host institution for the Scholarships for Instructors' Knowledge Advancement Program (SIKAP) of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Further, the Graduate School consists of top-caliber professors who are career service executives and practitioners.

With the Level II status of MCC and with its growing local and international community, it is timely for MCC to enter a consortium that would provide the alumni, teachers, staff, and administrators of the College, local government officials, and public school teachers in Mabalacat as well as in its adjacent areas with better access to shared facilities, resources, and graduate programs.

Dr. Baking and other officials toured the campus and witnessed the transformations and improvements of the school's facilities.

The MCC Management assured that MCC will continue to provide quality and professional advanced programs to the community it serves.
