Mabalacat City College Conducts its 1st Research Council Meeting

MCC held its 1st Research Council Meeting at the Cultural Hall last February 16, 2021. The event was initiated by the newly-appointed Director of the Center for Research and Development (CRD), Prof. Josevy A. Taguibao. In the said meeting, committees for Ethical Review, Technical Review, and Editorial Publication were formed. To further encourage participation, the CRD formulated the College Research Rewards and Incentives Program. The program hopes to build the research culture within the institution.

Furthermore, the MCC President Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong vowed her support to the endeavors of the center. “The formation of the council should not be taken as compliance with academic requirements but rather an obligation to the community to produce impactful programs. She added that the outputs are essential as they are the backbone in preparation for post covid [era]”, Dr. Ong said. In the end, she congratulated some council members who recently completed researches that contributed to the policy-making of the school as well as Prof. Raymond Vergara and Prof. James Darwin Lagman for having their papers published at the University Of Oxford’s Public Health Journal.
