October 22, 2021

The MCC Board of Trustees through BOT Resolution No. 54 (2021) has approved the creation of the Student Affairs and Support Services Division (SASS) thereby separating the entity from the Academic Affairs Division.

Formerly belonging under the auspices of the Academic Affairs Division, the SASS shall now be solely responsible for the management, monitoring, and supervision of all student affairs and support services units of the college which comprise of Library Services, Health Services, Guidance Services, Sports and Athletics, Student Affairs, Center for Character Development, DigiHubs and all Student Organizations. This office will also spearhead the direct linking to the academic stakeholders of the projects, programs, and activities of SASS units.

The separation of the Student Affairs and Support Services from the Office of the Vice President and Academic Affairs intends to provide close monitoring and support to student services units in implementing programs and services for the studentry. This move is also in line with the preparation of the institution's organization for long-term setup where there will be an expected increase of programs and services it intends to provide due to the projected increase of student population which will require more focused management and facilitation.

The Student Affairs and Support Services Division being in charge of the overall quality of student life in MCC works closely with other divisions of the institution to ensure that the services it provides foster the development of students as they pursue their academic and career goals.
