MCC and CHED to Further the Internationalization of Local Colleges  

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Director IV for International Affairs Staff Atty. Lily Freida C. Macabangun-Milla and her staff paid a quick visit to Mabalacat City College (MCC) last 18 January 2023 to meet briefly with the MCC College President Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong, Vice President for Finance and Administration Happy S. Pelayo, Chief of Staff Atty. Charmaine P. Lansangan-Venturina, and Vice President for Global Relations, Opportunities, and Workforce Development Raymond John D. Vergara. Also present in the short meeting was PHIHUA Director for Foreign Affairs Ms. Joy Romualdo, her staff, and HUAWEI representative Mr. Randy Lin.  

The meeting aimed to explore opportunities and strategies to advance the internationalization initiatives of CHED for Local Colleges. MCC is set to be part of the team that will craft, develop, and monitor internationalization programs and systems for local colleges.  

MCC expressed its appreciation for the unending support of CHED in ensuring that all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Philippines, including Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) like MCC, have enough resources to provide internationalization opportunities to all their students.

This equipped them with skills in life-saving and fostering commitment to social responsibility.

The Institute of Arts and Sciences (IAS) and the Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management (IHTM) successfully conducted the first batch of the Basic Life Support (BLS) Training for Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students on 25-26 November 2024 at MCC Cultural Hall. The event brought together over 100 first-year students, equipping them with skills in life-saving and fostering commitment to social responsibility.
