As part of the support provided by MCC REAP, students participate in "Tambay Kaagapay: Entrepreneurship Skills and Financial Literacy Seminar," on 26 February 2025. In partnership with City Youth Development Office, this intended to equip students with essential knowledge related to personal finance and money management.
Furthermore, Return to Education Assistance Program (REAP) beneficiaries signed an agreement with CYDO for their quarterly financial assistance. CYDO Policy and Planning Staff and REAP Focal Person-CYDO Ms. Anna Dominique Balagtas, LPT Oriented the REAP beneficiaries regarding the Financial Assistance for Returning Students prior to signing.
REAP beneficiaries underscored the help that the financial assistance will provide. “Actually, malaking factor din po yung financial assistance sa amin kasi it will help us finance our other expenses,” noted Mark Joshua Hernandez, BS Entrepreneurship student and REAP beneficiary.
Moreover, the seminar also covered topics including budgeting, saving and investing. APL Bee Group Administrative Assistant Mr. Jeffrey Asibido discussed the basics of a small business and Financial Wealth Consultant Ms. Marites Ocampo tackled the importance of income protection and having an emergency fund.
College Registrar and REAP Focal Person-MCC Ms. Kris Janey Marucut, LPT also discussed the data and accomplishment of MCC REAP. The activity was also graced by ICO Youth Development Officer Ms. Jaira Lomahan and SK Federation Vice President Hon. Jayvee Layson.
The activity provided valuable insights and guidance on financial matters, which allowed students to gain a deeper understanding regarding their finances. Through this, MCC and CYDO recognize the importance of supporting its community members and their families to secure a better future.
