MCC Hosts In-SeT and Kick-off Party for Faculty

Mabalacat City College conducted an In-service Training (In-SeT) titled "Teach Like a CHAMPION: Active and Collaborative Learning," accompanied by a Kick-off Party for the faculty members on 31 August 2023 at MCC Cultural Hall. This activity aimed to advocate continuous learning and teaching excellence, while fostering a positive work environment and encouraging collaboration among faculty members.

 

The training on Active and Collaborative Learning was facilitated by the Dean of the College of Education and Liberal Arts at PHINMA Araullo University Ms. Miraflor D. Roxas. Her session delved into effective techniques for engaging students and promoting active learning.

 

Reflecting on the training, Ms. Kaserin Icmat expressed her appreciation, underscoring the valuable strategies she gained for promoting active learning and enhancing cognitive receptivity and retention. She stated, “I learned different strategies to promote active learning. This will help the students be responsible with their own learning process and absorb knowledge in a way that works best for them”.

 

Dr. Romeo D. Erese III, the Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, highlighted the college's commitment to transforming lives through education, particularly within the framework of a community college. “As we embrace the community college framework, what becomes our goal is to transform the lives of people in Mabalacat City through education, through lifelong learning”, he noted.

 

Following the training, a Kick-off Party was held, featuring games and socialization activities. This provided an opportunity for faculty members to strengthen their connection and build camaraderie. The event also served as a gesture of gratitude from the college towards its teaching staff, acknowledging their dedication and loyal service.

 

With an unwavering commitment from its faculty, MCC remains steadfast in achieving its educational objectives and offer students an enriching and transformative academic journey. Such events improve rapport among faculty members as well as highlight the college's acknowledgment of their contributions.
