MCC Houses PAF’s Campus Peace and Development Forum

Philippine Air Force (PAF) 600th Air Base conducted “Campus Peace and Development Forum and Information Awareness Drive” on 18 October 2023 at Mabalacat City College Dapdap Campus. MCC students actively participated in this activity that aimed to work towards achieving an inclusive and sustainable peace in the country.

There were two batches for this activity that educated more students regarding the recruitment activities of the CPP-NDF-NPA or Communist Terrorist Group (CTGs). Speakers from the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC) 3 spearheaded the event.

Members of the 600th Air Base Group including Assistant Director for Civil Military Operations 2Lt Darwin S. Obsioma PAF, TSg Michael B. Peñalosa PAF, A1C Andrew Ben A. Tomales PAF, AW Lyra Nicole R. Campos PAF, Sgt Majid D. Hassan PAF, and Sgt Joshua M. Felipe PAF with the 2nd Air Reserve Center LTC Cris Caprangca PAF (RET), SSg Junard C. Cabatic PAF, and AW Edralyn Parado PAF contributed their expertise and efforts to address the root causes of insurgency.

This served as a platform for education and awareness regarding issues related to peace and insurgency, intending to foster a more peaceful and inclusive society. MCC continues to collaborate with different organizations and institutions to provide opportunities and raise awareness to both students and the community.

This equipped them with skills in life-saving and fostering commitment to social responsibility.

The Institute of Arts and Sciences (IAS) and the Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management (IHTM) successfully conducted the first batch of the Basic Life Support (BLS) Training for Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students on 25-26 November 2024 at MCC Cultural Hall. The event brought together over 100 first-year students, equipping them with skills in life-saving and fostering commitment to social responsibility.
