Environmental awareness is an integral part of the movement’s success and by informing the community that the physical environment is fragile and indispensable, actions can be taken, thus spearheaded by the Office of the Community Extension Services (MCC Kayantabe), the Mabalacat City College conducted a Clean-up Drive in the community last March 16, 2021.
The objective of the activity is to raise environmental awareness and to have a mindset on the preservation of nature for the future generation. In this regard, MCC illustrated to nearby businesses that cleanliness executes a vital role in trade and commerce.
Prior to the said activity, a registration form has been facilitated by the officers under the aforementioned office; moreover, this is to assess the number of individuals who would voluntarily join the environmental project Thus, gaining 90 employees in the list.
On the day of the event, the program officially began at eight (8:00) in the morning and lasted at half-past nine (10:30). Various offices of the College were assigned at specific locations for them to clean up; meanwhile, other participants finished earlier in which drove them to give a hand to those who are still working.
President Michelle Aguilar-Ong expressed her pride in a comment, saying: “To everyone who participated I couldn’t be prouder. Your hard work this morning was truly a display of one of our most important core values which is SERVICE.”
In general, the event was fruitfully celebrated establishing bonds to the nearby business owners though exemplifying the love for the environment. Through actions, it clearly showed that MCC purely desires to fulfill its core values (Passion, Integrity, Excellence, and Service) by the virtue of such activity.
