EcoWave Series: Revive to Thrive! Taking a Stand, Cleaning the Waters and the Land

November 13, 2023

Driven by the vision of a more sustainable future,  BS Biology 2A students of the Institute of Arts and Sciences (IAS) crafted informative brochures in support of the ongoing joint initiative of MCC-IAS and City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) on Stream Restoration Project in Sapang Balen that was launched last 26 June 2023.

This contest, organized by course instructor Mr. Glen Nolasco, aims to transcend the conventional classroom boundaries and share students’ land and river conservation advocacies, seeking to engage and inspire not just their peers but also the larger community.

The brochures convey the significance of sustainable living, offer practical guidance on reducing environmental footprints, and emphasize the significance of the SDGs in the context of local and global communities.

Each brochure seeks to address one or more of these goals, such as Good health and Well-being (Goal 3), Life Below Water (Goal 14), Life On Land (Goal 15), Clean Water and Sanitation (Goal 6), Responsible Consumption and Production (Goal 12), Climate Action (Goal 13), and Partnership for the Goals (Goal 17).

The BS Biology 2A Brochure Contest stands as a testament to the potential of student-led initiatives in promoting environmental awareness, fostering community engagement, and driving the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Beyond the contest's competitive spirit, it symbolizes the spirit of unity and education in the pursuit of a more sustainable future
