MCC, Mekeni Food Corporation Partners for Employability of BS Biology Students

Porac, Pampanga — Furthering the employment opportunities for BS Biology students and broader community, Mabalacat City College signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Mekeni Food Corporation on 16 August 2024 at Mekeni Head Office, Porac, Pampanga.

The collaboration between Mekeni and MCC is focused on improving the employability of Bachelor of Science in Biology (BS Biology) students by integrating industry insights into the academic curriculum. Through this partnership, Mekeni's experts will provide valuable inputs and guidance on curriculum development, ensuring that the program aligns with industry standards and meets the demands of the job market.

Mekeni Food Corporation President Prudencio S. Garcia was present during the ceremony while MCC was represented by the College President Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong, where she mentioned, "This partnership is a testament to our commitment to fostering quality education and preparing our students for successful careers." She also furthered "With the support and expertise of Mekeni, we can equip our students with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in their professional lives."

As it promotes stronger connection between academia and industry, the partnership is expected to benefit both MCC students and the community members. This also aimed to create a sustainable pathway for students to transition from education to employment, ensuring that they are well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Through this MOA, Mekeni and MCC have set a precedent for industry-academic collaborations that prioritize the holistic development of students, paving the way for future graduates to succeed as professionals in their chosen fields.
